In Vitro Maturation Study

Are you struggling with PCOS and looking for innovative fertility treatment with minimal burden and cost? CCRM Colorado is currently seeking female participants for a new in vitro maturation (IVM) clinical research study.

IVM requires significantly less hormonal stimulation than regular in vitro fertilization (IVF). Eggs from multiple small follicles are retrieved after just a few days of hormones. These eggs are retrieved in an immature state and are then matured in the IVF lab. Based on our published research, CCRM has developed a new maturation system that helps these eggs mature successfully. Once mature, IVF and embryo culture in the study proceeds identically to a typical IVF cycle.

Since IVM does not require aggressive stimulation of the ovaries with hormones, it dramatically reduces the number of injections the patients must receive, reduces the side effects often present with hormone treatment, and virtually eliminates the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).

STUDY CRITERIA

To qualify for this study, participants must be:

  • 38 years old or younger
  • Diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) or polycystic ovaries
  • Have an antral follicle count (AFC) of 25 or greater.

All participants must undergo a full fertility work-up at any CCRM location to determine if they qualify for the study. Participants are responsible for the cost of the fertility work-up.

If accepted into the study, treatment will take place at CCRM ColoradoTreatment costs associated with both IVM and preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) will be covered by CCRM, with the exception of medications. Study participants will responsible for the cost of one month of birth control pills and FSH. If you are interested in participating in the IVM study, call 303-788-8300 to set up a new patient consultation.
