CCRM Welcomes New Physician to its Northern Virginia Fertility Center

Global pioneer in fertility science, research and treatment adds Dr. Carter Owen to its team of esteemed fertility experts

WASHINGTON, D.C. – October 4, 2018 – CCRM (Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine), a global pioneer in fertility science, research and treatment, today announced the addition of Carter Owen, M.D. to its team of award-winning fertility specialists. Dr. Owen will see patients out of CCRM’s Northern Virginia fertility center beginning October 15, 2018.

Dr. Owen received her bachelor’s degrees in French and Biology from the University of Georgia. While a student at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, she was awarded a clinical research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland and focused her research on uterine fibroids. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. During her fellowship in reproductive endocrinology, infertility and medical genetics at the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Owen received the prestigious Society for Reproductive Investigation (SRI) Pfizer President’s Presenter’s Award for her thesis work on oocyte (egg cell) development.

Dr. Owen has presented research at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) Scientific Congress and Expo and the SRI annual meeting. Her research has also appeared in peer-reviewed journals, including Obstetrics & Gynecology, Fertility and Sterility, and Seminars in Reproductive Medicine.

She is passionate about evidence-based reproductive care and has participated in the writing of multiple ASRM committee opinions on a variety of topics, including polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and preimplantation genetic testing (PGT).
